HYDROSULPHITE SODA used as a reducing agent in aqueous solutions. It is used as such in some industrial dyeing processes, primarily those involving sulphur dyes and vat dyes. It can also be used for water treatment, gas purification, cleaning, and stripping. It can also be used in industrial processes as a sulfonating agent or a sodium ion source. It is used in the second step in processing black and white positive images, for making slides. It is available in Technical and Laboratory grade. SODIUM SULPHITE is primarily used in the pulp and paper industry. As an oxygen scavenger agent, it is used to treat water being fed to steam boilers to avoid corrosion problems, in the photographic industry, it protects developer solutions from oxidation and to wash fixer from film and photo-paper emulsions. As a reducing agent it is used in the textile industry as a bleaching, desulfurizing, and dechlorinating agent. It is available in Technical and Laboratory grade.
